Fifty Plus Club

The Fifty Plus Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 11:00a.m at Bradley Hall.  On the third Thursday there is Mass at 10:00a.m. before the meeting.

The Club, started in 1974, is a social club for Seniors.  We often arrange trips and bring in speakers at our meetings.  Coffee with bagels or cake are served after the 11:00 meetings. Usually about 50-55 members attend. Special lunches are sponsored in Fatima Hall for the Holidays. See the Calendar for the schedule.

The Club also sponsors a rosary chain and makes house calls and hospital visits to members who are ill.

Peace and Justice Group

The Peace and Justice Group promotes peace and justice in our community
and in ourselves and endeavors to influence public policy.

The goals of the group are:

1. Educate - ourselves and the parish with speakers and other events
2. Ecumenism - Reach out to our neighbors.
3. Influence Public Policy -Through education on issues that affect all of us.
4. Communication - Act as a clearing house for broader peace and justice information

The Peace and Justice Group studies current social issues.  Speakers have been invited to provide information and to suggest courses of action.  Activities have included training by the Michigan Peace Team, speakers returning from Israel and Palestine, and members of the Jewish and Islamic communities.  The group recently participated in a visit to a local Mosque sponsored by ILearn.

The Fatima Peace and Justice Group is closely associated with the Michigan Catholics for the Common Good .

The Moses Group is a sub-group of the Peace and Justice Group.  Moses consists of religious congregations and some other organizations and pushes for policies that promote regional equity, regional cooperation and connect people to opportunity.  The first objective of Moses is to strengthen its individual religious congregations.  These congregations then look to improve the conditions of the general community around them.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who re known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level.  Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice.  The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Our Lady of Fatima SVDP Society serves residents of Oak Park and meets the 1st Monday of the month at 7:30p.m in the gathering area.

The Oakland Counth District SVDP Society meets at various churches on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00p.m.
